Practice Writing Your Headlines
Headline practice is a great habit to get into.
I’ve been writing out headlines every day, even if I don’t write an article to go with them.
Why?
Partially to get better at writing headlines that capture people’s attention and get those important clicks.
And partially to get the brain juices working on future articles.
Every time I think of something I might want to write about or comment on, I jot it down. Later I will sit down and practice writing headlines referring to those notes.
I’ll often find while writing out headlines I come up with more ideas, or something similar but at a different angle, or for a different audience.
Then when I’m ready to start writing, I can choose a headline and start straight away. I’ll use it as the anchor for the whole article which helps if I get to a point where I get stuck and have to refocus what I’m writing.
It’s a simple habit to get into and has helped me have more to write than I have time for.
